Christine Hibberd nee Salt

Christine Hibberd, nee Salt, was born in Ashbourne in Derbyshire in 1943 and came to live on Rowan Tree Dell when she was aged four. She remembers playing in the fields between her house and the Totley Brook as a little girl. When she was a little older she accompanied her father into Gillfield Wood on many occasions.

This story is of one such occasion when they came upon a strange feature in a part of the wood off the beaten track.
