1841 Census for the township of Totley, Reference HO 107/195/5 Pages 1-17
The Census records a count of the number of houses, whether inhabited or uninhabited. It also records the following details for individual occupants: Name, Gender, Age, Occupation, Whether Born in the Same County (Derbyshire) and, where applicable, Whether Born Outside England. For those over the age of 14, age is shown in 5-year bands with, for example, ages of 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 all shown as '20'. For those below age 15, we have calculated the approximate year of birth from the age given at the date of the Census.
