Totley Rise Post Office

This double-sided projecting illuminated sign was on the wall of Totley Rise Post Office at 67 Baslow Road and was rescued by Totley History Group when the Post Office business was transferred to number 71 in August 2018. 

The oval disk is made of plastic material and measures approximately 28.5 inches (72.4 cm) at its widest, 20.5 inches (52.4 cm) at its narrowest and is 3.5 inches (9 cm) thick. It was fastened to the wall by a bracket secured by 4 bolts. The sign and bracket together weigh approximately 17.8 lbs (8.1 kg). There is no makers name. It dates from at least 1997.
